The Arts are a powerful way to connect people with one another and their respective histories. Education is what happens as people engage with, and draw out from one another their authentic voice through story, song, and artworks of all kinds. Intention, creating hope-filled spaces, is powerful in moving ourselves into a present full of possibility rather than gravitating, free-falling into a sea of pain. My aim is to be a healing and hopeful member of community life by reaching out into the space between cultures. Cross cultural arts fellowships and funding structures (modelled after the COSGORO of Indonesia and the Aboriginal corporations of first nations communities in Australia) enable people to move easily between cultural contexts while preserving their cultural identities.
